Legal ServicesWe are dedicated to supporting prisoners, and those impacted by criminalization and incarceration. Our areas of practice include Human Rights, Charter Litigation, access to healthcare, internal complaints and grievances, and Ombudsman Complaints. Please note that we do not practice criminal law.
Human RightsIncarceration and criminalization often involves de-humanizing processes which strip prisoners of their fundamental rights. We provide advice and representation of individuals and organizations who have faced discrimination or unequal treatment.
HealthcareIn Ontario, the healthcare of prisoners is handled by the Ministry of the Solicitor General rather than the Ministry of Health. We provide advice and representation to individuals and organizations in accessing healthcare for prisoners.
Charter LitigationWe provide advice and representation to individuals, and organizations with respect to the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This includes habeas corpus applications.

Prisoner Legal Support Line
613-894-HELP (4537) Every Monday between 1pm and 5pm caseworkers are answering calls to support incarcerated individuals in accessing their rights.
Internal Complaints and GrievancesNavigating the internal complaint and grievance processes while incarcerated can be very challenging. We aim to provide people currently incarcerated with a strong voice and to provide representation and advice when internal complaints processes are ineffective.
OmbudsmanIn Ontario, the Ombudsman's Office oversees jails, remand centres, and so-called correctional centres run by the province. We provide advice and representation to individuals and organizations in making complaints to the Ombudsman's Office.
